The New Municipal Logo

The present Administration, headed by the Hon. Rogelio N. Quiño, mindful and cognizant  of the numerous suggestions and proposals coming from the private,  and other concerned citizens of the need to modify or change the existing Municipal Seal which only illustrates in its design the landmass formation of the municipality together with the barangays symbolized by the 22 stars encircled in the seal and without any words inscribed therein to establish the identity of  the Municipality, commissioned a Municipal Seal Design Task Force pursuant to Ordinance No. 2008-561, which was entrusted to modify, redesign or change the existing Municipal Seal so that the new seal design would in fact realistically symbolize and truly portray the unique human  and natural resources and the inimitable amenities that only the Municipality of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon can offer.

On March 31 to April 30, 2008, a Municipal Seal Design Contest was held, for the purpose of choosing the best seal design and a total of 121 entries were submitted and received and finally on May 5, 2008, based on a judging criteria jointly adopted by the Seal Design Task Force, the Sangguniang Bayan and the Municipal Mayor, entry No. 60 was chosen as the winning entry. The new seal design was then submitted and presented to the 15th Sangguniang Bayan of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon and by Ordinance No. 2008-603, dated May 7, 2008, the Seal was formally adopted and approved as the New Official Seal of the Municipality of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon.

The Official Seal has now embodied and denoted in its design the true depiction of the Municipality by portraying in the seal, the Higaonon Tribe, Kitanglad Mountain Ranges, Del Monte Golf Course, Mangima Canyon Springs and Country Park, its 3 main products (pineapple, corn, cattle), the stars symbolizing its 22 Barangays and 1916, the year of its creation. The Official Seal has likewise complied with the specified shape, colors and size. The circular design symbolizes unity and oneness of its people while the colors: Yellow – Color of sunshine and it is associated with joy, happiness, intellect and energy; Blue – Color of the sky. It is often associated with depth and stability and symbolizes trust, loyalty, wisdom and confidence; Green – Color of nature. It signifies growth, harmony and prosperity; and Black – Color of its text inscription, represents power, elegance and formality.

On the other hand, the observance of the Charter Day Celebration this year was likewise rationalized to establish the exact year of its creation into a Municipality. This is why this year, it is commemorated as our 92nd Charter Day Celebration and not as its 51st Anniversary Year, as celebrated by the previous administration. The reason for this difference is the fact, that the basis used for this year’s Charter Day Celebration was reckoned from the year when the Municipality of Maluko was actually created and it was on the year 1916 pursuant to Provincial Board Resolution No. 98 and subsequently revised by Executive Order No. 5, dated April 4, 1917. On the other hand, the basis used by the previous administration in celebrating the Charter Day of our Municipality was on the year when the name of the Municipality of Maluko was changed to the Municipality of Manolo Fortich pursuant to Republic Act No. 1720, dated June 21, 1957. Agreeably logical therefore, when a Municipality celebrates it foundation or its creation, it should be based on the actual year that it was chartered and created and not when its name was changed. And so today, we now observe our Charter Day Celebration beginning June 21, 1916 and every year thereafter.

Today, the New Official Seal of the Municipality of Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon stands proud and reverend in symbolizing the true aspirations and the uplifted spirits of its empowered citizens living in a progressive community, inhabited by a happy, peace-loving and responsible citizenry.
